This is a map of the Seoul Forest located in a children's play area. There are buttons on it that light up certain locations and gives you an idea of how big that area is. There is a bridge that runs through the entire park and goes to the Han River. At night the bridge looks very nice. The Seoul Forest is like another zoo almost. There are various animal areas one can go and enjoy for free.
One of those animal areas is a deer enclosure. It's a very big area where you can see and feed deer. There is a machine that dispenses deer food for 1,000 won. the deer do eat out of your hands and are so used to human interaction that there is no need to fear being harmed or bitten. However, like all wild deer, they do have ticks so beware when you try to pet a deer here. That is me attempting to pet a deer. He sucked on my finger for a bit before letting me pet his head.
Here is my friend feeding a deer a leaf. He had a fun time playing with and feeding the deer. The male deer were more social that day but it was a little intimidating to us for a while because of their horns (which this deer allowed us to touch). Their horns feel like ivory; they are very rigid and solid.
Here is the rabbit exhibit. This one is kind of weird because seeing rabbits in an exhibit is not normal usually and their location wasn't normal either. It was located in the middle of an outdoor work out space with pull up bars and stuff. Nonetheless, it was still a cute exhibit to see. They are well taken care of too. They have a hutch, food, water and get regular cleaning. Other things that I didn't go through but that were there were the horse range, the camp ground and I believe there was an area where flamingos stay. I did go through the butterfly room which is a two part exhibit. The inside houses pretty flowers, gerbils, butterflies and chipmunks. The outside had beetles, arachnids, amphibians and reptiles. They also had exotic fresh water fish tanks.
I didn't go to the campground on site but I was near it and took a picture of the art walk area. It was strip of grass with a bunch of pieces of art next to the campground. I liked this fountain that was there. This is also one exit of the Seoul Forest. Nearby also was a play area for kids and an area called "hill of winds"
The Seoul Forest (서울숲) was a nice place to visit for the day, It was relaxing and though it was not entirely my view of a forest, it was different enough from the fast paced city life that a day here was relaxing. There were a lot of younger kids here too (ages from 4-14) but it was still quiet and peaceful. But leaving the forest, you clearly know that you are right back in the city. I also went on an "average" autumn day which is about 10 degrees celcius (50 degrees). The air was chilly and nippy but if you have a nice thick scarf or a fur lined parka, you are fine for the autumn here :)
