CKEP 3 - International Food Party

It's been a long time since I have made a post.  The end of the semester has been really busy between different activities, the semester ending and finals.  However, as the title shows, this post is dedicated to the third and final CKEP of this semester.  It was a really fun experience and different.  For this one the rules for signing up were as follows
1) 10 teams of 5, first come first serve.
2) Each team of 5 has to be from the same country or region.
3) The team leader needs to sign everyone up by their first and last name, region and student ID.
4) Each team needs a team name.
5) Each team needs to decide a dish they will prepare beforehand and put it on their application.
6) The food item should be a representative food of your country.

Among these rules there was a small loophole.  There was one student from Hong Kong and a few from Australia but not enough to make a group and some from Sweden.  While the rules do say you must be from the same region, this group was able to get away with having two Australians, two Swedish and one Hong Kong student and their dish was a traditional Aussie dessert.

It was December 3rd, 2016 and the day started out with every team needing to meet up at Seoul Station to go grocery shopping for ingredients.  Each team received 50-60,000 won provided by the OIA and the OIA was going to check the carts to make sure nothing unnecessary was being purchased while they paid for the ingredients.
Here are the ingredients out team had (along with my bag and jacket).  My team made chili con carne (America's official food) with biscuits.

After everyone was finishing purchasing everything, the store has its customers put everything in boxes at a separate boxing area.  Here is what that looks like,  This is one of the Chinese teams at the boxing area putting everything in boxes before heading out to the cooking school which was at another subway location.
Here we are at the cooking school, laid everything out on the table and began to cook.  Everyone had two hours to whip up a meal and everyone was able to do so.  Our chili only took about an hour so the other hour was spent on keeping it warm.
Here was our finished product, ready to be sent to the presentation table to be taste tested and then voted on for best meal.  The winners of the best meal got a 50,000w gift card to BHC which is the best chicken place and located right across the street from the university main gate.
Here is the presentation table with only some of the dishes presented.  There were a lot of dishes an they were all so good.
In the end the teams took pictures together.  Here is my team.  Representing America for how diverse it really is. haha.

The international food party was a really fun way to do one last fun thing before finals and the farewell ceremony.  If you can, sign up for it.  You wont regret it!
